Collaborator
Research Scientist at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) at the Institute for Advanced Social Studies (IESA).
His research aims to integrate approaches developed by various disciplines, including both social and natural sciences, to understand the complex relationships between biodiversity conservation and other human activities that rely on natural resources. He is particularly interested in investigating conservation conflicts through a multidisciplinary framework in order to find solutions that help mitigate them and ultimately contribute to the sustainable use of natural resources. He is an invited member of the expert group on “Sustainable Use and Livelihoods” of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and serves on the scientific committee of Future Earth (http://www.futureearth.org/) in Spain.
