Hala El Moussaoui
Predoctoral Researcher
Hala holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness from the American University of Beirut (AUB), Lebanon. She then pursued a Master’s degree in Sustainable Agriculture at the University of Padova, Italy, where she strengthened her expertise in sustainable farming systems and environmental management. During her Master’s studies, she completed an Erasmus research semester in Germany at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research in Leipzig. Her Master’s thesis, entitled “Effects of Multi-generational Exposure of Daphnia magna to Pesticides and Environmental Stress”, examined the transgenerational ecological impacts of pesticide exposure under environmental stress conditions, further developing her research skills in environmental toxicology and experimental analysis.
After completing her studies, Hala returned to Lebanon and worked on two European-funded projects: BONEX and Provision of Services to Address Agricultural Pollution in the Litani River Basin, contributing to initiatives focused on environmental management and agricultural sustainability. She later moved to Almeria, Spain, where she worked on two additional European projects, ClimateSmartAdvisors and Climate Farm Demo, supporting activities related to agricultural advisory systems and climate-smart farming across Europe.
She is currently a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Antonio J. Castro at the University of Almería.
